Types of Stress Management

The four types of stress management techniques are:

If one is physically stressed, it means that he indulges in physical activities that damage his body. This could also refer to insufficient sleep.

The pain of a broken relationship or failure at the workplace can lay a lot of emotional stress on an individual.

Chronic stress is the stress one feels over a long duration. Over time, this can be debilitating. Chronic stress can originate from a traumatic experience in childhood. People who have such experiences see the world as a threat and believe that their stressful experiences will never end.

This is the kind of stress that comes upon one suddenly and quickly. Though it may not last long, it could leave one shellshocked.

Stress Management Coping Strategies

Though stress is a part of modern life, yet one must learn to deal with it and not let it take over. Here are some effective coping strategies which can use to manage stress effectively:

By increasing one’s activity and exercise levels, one gets better sleep. And, sleeping well, means stress management. Deep breathing exercises, yoga, and meditation can also be practiced.

One must eat a healthy and nutritious diet to remain healthy and fit. Eating healthy food regularly reduces the effect of stress and lowers blood pressure levels.

A sleep schedule should be followed as stress sets in when sleep is insufficient. The inability to sleep is stressful and causes insomnia.

Yoga, meditation, and deep breathing are effective for stress management. The body is relaxed and entirely stress-free. Regular practice of any of these will help lower stress levels.
